This section features long runs, deep pools, and slow-moving water in the upper portion perfect for dry fly fishing. The middle and lower stretches have high gradients, rapids, and pocket water ideal for various fly pattern selections. Section A has crystal-clear pools and the highest trout density on the Green River. Water clarity allows spotting fish up to 8 feet below the surface using your rod and reel. Brown trout, cutthroat trout, and rainbow trout dominate, with occasional whitefish and cuttbows – making it a premier destination for any seasoned angler.

This 9-mile stretch offers moderate gradient fishing with the second highest trout population densities on the Green River. Access is limited to drift boats and gravel roads, providing excellent green river fishing opportunities for the dedicated fly fisherman.
